Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 1, 2026
Tabbi is a product operated by Makedo Inc. ("Makedo," "we," "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've kept it as plain as we can — Tabbi is built for non-native English speakers, and that includes this policy.
By using Tabbi, you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Information We Collect
We collect:
- Account information. Your email, name, and any profile details you provide.
- Content you create. Text you submit for correction or feedback, audio recordings for accent features, quiz responses, and other learning activity.
- Usage data. How you interact with Tabbi — features used, frequency, session length.
- Device data. Browser type, device type, operating system, and similar technical information.
- Payment data. If you subscribe, billing details and transaction history. We don't store full card numbers — those go directly to our payment processor.
How We Use Information
We use your information to:
- Operate and improve Tabbi (e.g., produce corrections, generate quizzes, personalize feedback)
- Process your content through AI systems to deliver the Service's core features
- Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support
- Process subscriptions and manage billing
- Detect abuse, fraud, and policy violations
- Comply with legal obligations
Your text inputs and audio recordings may be sent to AI providers we partner with (see "How We Share Information") to generate the corrections, transcriptions, and feedback you see in Tabbi.
How We Share Information
We share information only with third parties that help us operate Tabbi:
- Payment processors — Stripe handles our subscription billing. When you subscribe, your payment details go directly to Stripe; we receive transaction confirmations and limited metadata, not full card numbers.
- AI service providers — providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and AssemblyAI process your text and audio to generate corrections, transcriptions, and other AI features. They process this content under their own policies and under contractual safeguards with us.
- Infrastructure providers — cloud hosting, database, authentication, and analytics services (such as Amazon Web Services) store and process data on our behalf.
- Legal compliance — we may share information if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
- Business transfers — if Makedo is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We'll notify you of any change in ownership.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data Storage and Transfers
Your data is stored on servers operated by our infrastructure providers, primarily in the United States. Some of our service providers may process or store data in other countries. By using Tabbi, you understand that your information may be transferred internationally and processed outside your country of residence.
User Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent or object to certain processing
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
To exercise these rights, email us at contact@tabbi.ai. We process account deletion requests within 72 hours and respond to other requests as soon as we reasonably can.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how you use Tabbi. You can adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies, but some features may not work properly without them.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access. No system is 100% secure, but we work to keep ours as safe as we can. If a security incident affects your data, we'll notify you in line with applicable law.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the Service or by email. The "Effective Date" at the top reflects the most recent update. Continued use of Tabbi after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
Transition Notice
Tabbi was previously operated by Tabbi AI, Inc. As of May 1, 2026, Tabbi has been acquired by Makedo Inc. Makedo Inc. is now the data controller responsible for handling your information in accordance with this Policy. Your existing account, content, and subscription continue uninterrupted, and subscription billing is now managed by Makedo Inc. via Stripe.
